Wicket Cast Synopsis
Are you ready Star Wars nerds?! (And all those that just love Musical Theater and want to be a part of something great.) Here is the character breakdown for Wicket: A Star Wars Parody Musical.
WICKET: (Male – was played by a female in their stage premiere.) Undersized Ewok with a big heart. Earnest, high-energy, and lovable. May have delusions of grandeur; all his life he’s dreamt of being a hero despite his stature and clumsiness.
KNEESAA: (NEE-sah) (Female) Progressive Ewok Princess. Kind, clever, and headstrong–a modern woman in a primitive society. Loves her father (Chirpa) but butts heads with his old fashioned ways.
LEIA: (Female – needs to be able to belt as a rocker diva.) Frustrated Rebel Senator; Princess. The Leia we knew from the movies, but with a deeply repressed hidden side–the angry, powerful, heavy metal rage bomb that represents all the suppressed anger and tragedy in her young life.
LOGRAY: (low-GRAY) (Male) Charming Ewok medicine man. A smiling font of wisdom with a dark side–literally. He has weaseled his way into the good graces of the village for decades, but he’s secretly in cahoots with the Empire.
ENSIGN: (Female) Overlooked black female Imperial Officer. Genius intelligence, razor wit, and incredibly patient (she had to be in the white male dominated Empire). But her patience has just run out.
EMPEROR: (Older Male) George Lucas-like director of the galaxy. He looks and sounds like the Emperor we know, but we now see his hubris writ large–he created this universe, he intends to control every aspect of it.
CHIRPA: (CHIRP-ah) (Male) Old-fashioned Ewok Chief, Kneesa’s dad. He represents the old ways–he’s not a bad guy, but he has resigned himself to the fact that the narrative is controlled by much more powerful forces, and there’s nothing he or his tribe can do about it.
LATARA: (Female) Troublemaking Ewok. Always stirring the pot, making mischief, and putting her friends into uncomfortable situations.
TEEBO: (Male) Swaggering Ewok warrior. The perfect picture of Ewok masculinity–everything Wicket is not.
SHODU: (Female) Ewok mom with a tiny Wokling in a basket.
IGAR: (Male) Male chauvinist Imperial Officer.
ROADIE: (Male or Female) Roadie-Wan Kenobi; heavy metal roadie.
ALSO: Dancing Scout Troopers & Ewoks.
